What will you be doing?

The team you will be part of designs, manages and improves our company’s internal infrastructure, striking a balance between applying the latest technology and running a stable, reproducible infrastructure. This requires a lot of automation. Your days consist mainly of technical, hands-on work. You manage and develop all of ON2IT’s data centers, consisting of two physical data centers and two public cloud environments. You work with different and new techniques and improve them. For example: Kubernetes on bare metal, Couchdb, ELK, various databases, CGP, AWS, Azure and all networking and security. You don’t have to know everything, but we do expect you to have a strong grasp on the following techniques:

• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Linux
• Various orchestration tools
• AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, ECS, RDS, CloudTrail)
• GCP (K8s, networking, etc)
• CCNA
• Big data databases (maintenance and architecture)

As a member of our DevOps team you will be working together with fifteen colleagues, four of which are Ops.

Your responsibilities include:

• Automating and optimizing software and systems
• Maintenance releases
• DC failover tests
• Planning and mapping capacity management
• Monitoring, dashboarding, alerting and logging tools
• Code reviews on security, information security
• Contributing with and developing smart IT solutions and processes
• Keeping up with IT developments and implementing new tools and processes

Who are you?

You have a passion for technology, you are smarter than most people and you are a strong troubleshooter. You know how to turn half-baked things into something useful for us and our customers and for this you only need half a word. You have a flexible work attitude and in addition, you bring with you:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Software Engineering or Information Technology;
• At least 1 year of experience with Linux, Kubernetes, networking, security and scripting;
• Experience with VMware and VDI is a plus;
• A natural drive to learn more and new technologies in as much detail as possible;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language (spoken and written);
• A proactive and alert attitude.
